“We have lost a dear friend and a valued colleague. Rene Lee died on Saturday April 18 in the afternoon. Our pain and sorrow at this time are very little compared to what Rene’s family must be feeling. Our hearts and prayers are with them.
Rene Lee was an exemplary partner, great husband, great father and great grandfather. All of us who were privileged to know him will miss him very much and we will always carry with us. Rene Lee devoted his life to television and was a pioneer in the distribution of content, opening up the international market for Mexican content.
The funeral took place in Mexico City on Sunday April 19 in the company of family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Elsa and his three children Rene, Guillermo and Teresa.”
