The protagonist of the film ‘Roma’, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, will be in the WAWA Inspiring Minds cycle on August 30.

Yalitza Aparicio, nominated for the Oscars in the best actress category and becomed the first indigenous woman to receive such a nomination, will be here next Monday, August 30 at 5PM, Miami time.

The actress was born in 1993 in the city of Tlaxiaco located in Oaxaca, Mexico. She studied to be an educator. She auditioned for the role of Cleo, the leading character in the film Roma (2018), directed by Alfonso Cuarón and almost won an Oscar.

Since her film debut, she has dedicated herself to advocating for different social causes such as gender equality, the rights of indigenous peoples and the constitutional guarantees of domestic workers.

The Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association (WAWA) has been working hard and recently, in a meeting with its associates, they announced important plans for the coming months.
