First session of the new INCAA advisory council in Argentina

These advisers will work hand in hand with the co-government body, as indicated by the Cinema Law.

The Advisory Council together with the Federal Assembly and the president and vice president of INCAA co-govern the Institute.

The Advisory Council of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) held its first session yesterday after its appointment in September, through Decree 627/2021 of the Presidency of the Nation. The Advisory Council together with the Federal Assembly and the president and vice president of INCAA co-govern the Institute. The body has a consultative function and contributes to guaranteeing transparency in the actions of the entity, the federal nature of its policies and the participation of the audiovisual community in decision-making on the matter. The Body had not met since 2018.

Composed of ten members with gender parity, they were proposed by the Federal Assembly of INCAA on behalf of the five regions of the country and by the entities that bring together professionals from the various areas of the Argentine audiovisual industry. They are Paula Mastellone, for the NEA region; Hebe Estrabou, for the NOA region; Cristina Estela Raschia, for the Cuyo region; Verónica Cecilia Hernández, for the Central region; and Cristian Ariel Calvo, for the Patagonia region.

For their part, the members who represent the associations of industry professionals are Daniel Guillermo Alveredo, for the Argentine Association of Actors (AAA); Luciano Edgardo Bertone, for the Syndicate of the Argentine Film Industry, Animation, Advertising and Audiovisual Media (SICA APMA); Vanessa Ragone, for the representative entities of the producers; and Juan Manuel Mascaró and Gaspar Scheuer, for the entities representing the directors.

Among the topics discussed was the presentation of the INCAA Management report and new committees were appointed. In addition, a tribute was paid to the filmmaker and writer Jorge Coscia, former Secretary of Culture of the Nation, and they talked about the Expiry project of the Deputy Pablo Carro Development Fund. Finally, it was established that the next meeting of the Council will be held at the end of November with the venue to be confirmed.
