PRENSARIO INTERNATIONAL, a pioneer media company with almost 50 years in the entertainment business, confirmed details today for the fifth edition of VIRTUAL SCREENINGS. As in previous years, the event will be held in partnership with NATPE.

The fifth online edition will be held from June 7-16 under the title LA VIRTUAL SCREENINGS (LAVS). This follows the success of its previous editions last two years, which gathered +4,300 participants, with +1,550 buyers, from almost 130 countries.

Nicolás Smirnoff, managing director, Prensario International: “VS was one of the few virtual events which saw a huge success during the pandemic, taking place four times (twice per year) with 4,000 participants each in 2020 and 2021. Now that the physical events are back, we’ll provide only one edition per year, and have that one edition be much stronger. It will be held two weeks after to avoid overlapping actions. The event will target the worldwide content industry, complementing the LA-based in-person event, where the independent market is focused on Latin America”.

JP Bommel, President and CEO of NATPE, commented: “We are thrilled to be associated once again with LAVS which has proven to be the ultimate integrated online platform for discovery and distribution of content globally’.

LAVS 2022 will again offer its six strategic sections

  • VS Market: new & fresh, multi-genre programming from international providers
  • VS Next: panels, sessions, programming showcases and “Testimonials of the Industry” from global key decision makers
  • VS Figures: rankings of the most watched content by type, genre, origins, plus key industry data
  • VS Billboard: a daily selection of the top shows at VS
  • VS News: Daily Report and the main news of the industry
  • VS Browser & Filters: automated content selections by tittle, genre, etc.

What is new in LAVS 2022? Smirnoff answered: “Everything is bigger and better: the user’s interface, the automated digital tools, the information per product, the browser, the reports with lead generation, the stats per day, etc. It will be again a great experience for the whole world, being useful both for the buyers that have attended LA Screenings and the buyers that didn’t participate. The VS markets already have a very solid community of users and will continue as normality is restored”.

As previously indicated, the last four editions were heavily attended by global executives and PRENSARIO INTERNATIONAL expects the same for the 2022 version for three reasons: first, a very simple system and free of charge registration; second, a friendly usage of the digital tools; and third, a big number of data processed and delivered during the market days.

Acquisitions, programming, and production executives attending the virtual marketplace will be able to:

  • To watch trailers, previews and complete episodes of the contents
  • To take advantage of digital tools to detect new hits and opportunities through rankings, suggestions, rising genres, stats
  • To watch in short time a large amount of programming, including key distributors that usually have time to review in physical markets
  • To interact in real time with content suppliers to set virtual meetings
  • To attend top panels & conferences about the latest market trends

Almost 20 companies have already confirmed their participation as exhibitors: Turkey’s Inter Medya, Kanal D and MADD, as well as the European Banijay Rights and all3media (UK), CDC United Network (Belgium), RTVE (Spain), and SIC (Portugal); from Latin America and USA, Caracol TV and RCN (Colombia), Globo (Brasil), Televisa (Mexico), Canal 13 (Chile), Cisneros Media and Snap (USA), Onceloops (Argentina); and from APAC, GoQuest (India). On the services side, two dubbing houses, Universal Cinergia (USA) and Caja de Ruidos (Argentina).
