Proim\u00e1genes de Colombia<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Proim\u00e1genes de Colombia announced the films that will be in the 50th edition of the\u00a0Directors’ Fortnight<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0the Cannes Festival, which will take place from May 9 to 19. Colombia participates with the inaugural film, two co-productions and two short films that will have their world premiere in a selection where “they\u00a0will speak a lot of Spanish,” according to \u00c9douard Waintrop, artistic director of this section.<\/p>\n

The Directors’ Fortnight<\/strong>\u00a0is a parallel section of the Cannes Festival, created in 1969 of\u00a0independent, free and non-competitive character, is open to all forms of filmmaking: fiction and documentary feature films and short films.<\/p>\n

For the first time, the inauguration will be with a Latin American film. The Colombian feature\u00a0film\u00a0P\u00e1jaros de verano<\/em>\u00a0directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra (El Abrazo de la Serpiente<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The Colombian-Mexican co-production\u00a0C\u00f3mprame un Rev\u00f3lver\u00a0<\/em>by Mexican Julio Hern\u00e1ndez will participate.\u00a0Los Silencios<\/em>\u00a0a co-production between Brazil, Colombia and France, directed by the Brazilian Beatriz Seigner. In short films, the documentary\u00a0Our Song to War<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0Colombian-Belgian Juanita Onzaga.<\/p>\n
