The event started with the screening of the finalist projects of the Pitch Clips Category, which includes \u201cMadrid Apollo\u201d \u2013a project awarded with the ALMA AWARD yesterday during the\u00a0<strong>Conecta FICTION Reboot Awards Gala<\/strong>. Throughout the third day: five panels, the SPOTLIGHT PANEL: MALLORCA FILM COMMISION, the screening of the making-of of the original Youtube series \u201cMORTAL GLITCH\u201d and the closing event of the on-site event took place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GECA. <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">NEW AUDIOVISUAL NARRATIVES<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This panel included the online participation of\u00a0<strong>Kike Lozano<\/strong>, General Director of GECA (Spain), and the physical participation of\u00a0<strong>Ruth Calvo<\/strong>, Director of International Development of GECA (Spain). For thirty minutes, the two representatives of the specialized consultancy firm devoted themselves to explain step by step the data and trends of fiction consumption nowadays. Even if, in the words of Kike Lozano, &#8220;the home king is still the TV&#8221;, they also discussed second screens, digital content and the innovation to find new narrative strategies that fully exploit the potential of this era of fiction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REBOOTING AUDIENCES. <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">STORY OR FACTS, WHY NOT BOTH?\u00a0THE REALITY OF DRAMA DOCUS<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This hybrid panel was moderated by\u00a0<strong>Krishan Arora<\/strong>, International Content Consultant for SBS Australia and founder of Mixing Media (UK).\u00a0<strong>Christian Beetz<\/strong>\u00a0(Independent Documentary Producer at Gebrueder Beetz Filmproduktion, Germany),\u00a0<strong>David Andr\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0(Filmmaker and Showrunner, France),\u00a0<strong>Jorge Ortiz<\/strong>\u00a0(Head of Content at Movistar+,Spain), and\u00a0<strong>Emma Frank<\/strong>\u00a0(Screenwriter and Director at Lambent Productions, UK) were also there online. This genre was described as a process that has evolved and has a solid base in the voices of the protagonists. That is why it has consolidated among new audiences as one of their preferred ways of representing reality. Footage from the panelists&#8217; most recent productions was also screened. And the first images of\u00a0<strong>Rohwedder<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>Christian Beetz<\/strong>&#8216;s new production that will premiere on\u00a0<strong>Netflix<\/strong>\u00a0on September 25<sup>th<\/sup>) were released in this edition of\u00a0<strong>Conecta Fiction Reboot.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REBOOTING AUDIENCES. <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>THE WIN WIN MUSIC AND FICTION\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Marina Such<\/strong>\u00a0(Journalist at Fuera de Series, Spain) and\u00a0<strong>Arturo Olea<\/strong>\u00a0(Business Development Director at Acorde Music Library &amp; SFX, Spain) moderated the panel dedicated to music supervision.\u00a0<strong>Julia Michels<\/strong>\u00a0(Music Supervisor of &#8220;A Star is Born\u201d&#8221; and &#8220;Pitch Perfect&#8221;, USA) and\u00a0<strong>Jen Malone<\/strong>\u00a0(Music Supervisor of &#8220;Euphoria&#8221; and &#8220;The Umbrella Academy&#8221;, USA) participated digitally, while\u00a0<strong>Juan Tom\u00e1s Tello<\/strong>\u00a0(Music Supervisor of &#8220;La Casa de Papel&#8221; and &#8220;Vis a Vis&#8221;, Spain) and\u00a0<strong>Omar Tenani<\/strong>\u00a0(Music Supervisor and Founder of Yembe! Agency, Spain) attended the panel in person. The four panelists emphasized the value of music for the narrative of any story and the need to take it into consideration when making budgets. They also spoke about the benefits for the music industry, since audiovisual productions have the power to &#8220;give a second life and a new end&#8221; to music that had already been forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>NAVARRA<\/strong><strong>. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">INCENTIVES FOR AUDIOVISUAL CONTENT\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Javier L\u00f3pez Blanco<\/strong>\u00a0(Producer of Tornasol Media, Spain),\u00a0<strong>Jorge Santos<\/strong>\u00a0(Managing Partner of the Tax Department of ARPA Lawyers Consultants, Spain) and\u00a0<strong>David As\u00edn Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>\u00a0(Associate and lawyer of the Tax Department of ARPA Lawyers Consultants, Spain) participated in this panel focused in the advantages of producing in Navarra. Among other things, they praised the attitude and willingness of the Government of Navarra, the &#8220;easier and faster&#8221; loan system, and the &#8220;culture&#8221; of Navarra&#8217;s investors who have a positive and secure perception about financing audiovisual projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REBOOTING AUDIENCES. <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>DRAMA PODCAST KILLED THE RADIO STAR<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Moderated by\u00a0<strong>Roger Casas-Alatriste<\/strong>\u00a0(CEO of El Ca\u00f1onazo Transmedia, Spain), this panel included the virtual participation of\u00a0<strong>Dany Saadia<\/strong>\u00a0(Founder and CEO of DIXO, Spain),\u00a0<strong>Sergio Dom\u00ednguez\u00a0<\/strong>(Managing Director of Acast, Mexico),\u00a0<strong>Javier Celaya<\/strong>\u00a0(Managing Director of Podimo Spain &amp; Latam, Spain) and\u00a0<strong>Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Espinosa<\/strong>\u00a0(Director of Podium Podcast &#8211; Prisa Radio, Spain). In this panel they discussed entertainment podcast production, and the difference between the markets and audiences in the United States, LATAM and Spain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REBOOTING AUDIENCES.\u00a0 <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>HOW TO BRING TELEVISION CLOSER TO DIGITAL AUDIENCES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The last panel of the day was moderated by the director of the event\u00a0<strong>G\u00e9raldine Gonard<\/strong>\u00a0and included the participation of\u00a0<strong>Arturo Y\u00e9pez<\/strong>\u00a0(CEO of Touch\u00e9 Films, Ecuador),\u00a0<strong>Bastian Manintveld<\/strong>\u00a0(CEO of 2bTube, Spain) and\u00a0<strong>Margie Moreno<\/strong>(International Creative Executive for Youtube, United States). Throughout this hour, strategies to attract new audiences were discussed. They also talked about influencers and their ability to create proximity with the younger generations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Short-Form Series Emmy\u00aeAwards\u00a0Semifinal<\/span>. <\/strong>Inside Content, together with the International Academy of Television Arts &amp; Sciences, organized the\u00a0<strong>Short-Form Series Emmy\u00aeAwards<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Semifinal<\/strong>. The jury was formed by 12 professionals:\u00a0<strong>Charline DE LEPINE<\/strong>\u00a0(MACONDO),\u00a0<strong>Steven BAWOL<\/strong>\u00a0(HELION SPS),\u00a0<strong>Ignacio R. The semi-final process is coordinated worldwide by the Academy directly. The names of the finalists in each category of the\u00a0<strong>Emmy\u00aeAwards<\/strong>\u00a0will be known in early fall, and the winners will be announced in the 48th edition of the most prestigious international television awards in the world.\u00a0<strong>The Emmy\u00ae Awards Gala<\/strong>\u00a0will be held in November 2020 in New York.<\/p>\n<p>During the closing ceremony,\u00a0<strong>G\u00e9raldine Gonard<\/strong>\u00a0revealed the official numbers of the event: 473 accredited professionals, 258 of which opted for the hybrid package so they could attend in person if possible.
