As part of TelevisaUnivision\u2019s transformation, Fernando Muniz, General Director of Sales for Televisa Networks and Televisa International, will transition out of the company by mid-May.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

TelevisaUnivision, the world\u2019s leading Spanish-language media and content company, today announced the appointment of Rita Herring as Senior Vice President of International Distribution, as part of the global distribution team. Reporting directly to Michael Schwimmer, President, Global Platform Strategy and Revenue, Herring will lead the pay TV distribution for linear networks for all markets outside of the U.S, as well as distribution of the company\u2019s new ViX streaming app to MVPDs, in conjunction with her counterpart, Adam Waltuch, Senior Vice President, Streaming Partnerships. She will split her time between TelevisaUnivision\u2019s offices in Miami and Mexico.<\/p>\n

Her experience managing teams across the U.S. and Mexico and her deep expertise in channel distribution makes her uniquely qualified to take on this new role,\u201d said Schwimmer. \u201cWith Rita\u2019s strong understanding of our markets, she\u2019ll lead the efforts to ensure the company\u2019s Spanish-language networks continue to reach the growing Spanish-speaking audience worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Herring joins TelevisaUnivision from ViacomCBS Americas, where she led a team across Miami, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil and was responsible for negotiating and securing all content distribution deals for the brands in the region. Previously, she was at Telemundo as well as MTV Networks Latin America, where she opened and oversaw the company\u2019s operations in Mexico.<\/p>\n

As part of TelevisaUnivision\u2019s transformation, Fernando Muniz, General Director of Sales for Televisa Networks and Televisa International, will transition out of the company by mid-May. Herring will absorb Muniz\u2019s channel distribution responsibilities. On an interim basis, Carlos Castro,<\/strong> General Director of Sales<\/strong>, will manage Televisa International\u2019s content and licensing and co-production work, reporting directly to Patricio Wills, President of W Studios.<\/strong> \u201cWe are very grateful for Fernando\u2019s steadfast dedication to the company.
