Fran Drescher was elected president of SAG-AFTRA<\/a> on September 2, 2021, and re-elected on September 8, 2023. The actress and comedian rose to international stardom for her performance in The Nanny<\/em>, which she also co-created and produced executive.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel honored for this second term as president of the union. These are dynamic times, and all members will weather the storms. \u201cI want all members to be respected and I will continue to fight against marginalization and discrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur main objective as a union must be to ensure that everyone has the same opportunities to work.
