The call will be open until July 18th and is aimed at national production companies participating in international co-productions or providing production services for fiction series and feature films, animation-VFX, docu-fiction, and entertainment programs.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is BA Production’s second call of the year. It is a financial incentive (Cash Rebate) and is a program promoted by the City, through the Ministry of Economic Development in conjunction with the Buenos Aires Ministry of Culture. The program seeks to boost the local audiovisual industry by reimbursing part of the expenses for productions filmed in the City. The rebate percentage is 25%, and the maximum amount is 250 million pesos per project.<\/p>\n

Audiovisual production companies from the country with two feature-length fiction, docu-fiction, or animation films, fiction, docu-fiction, and\/or animation series (at least one in international co-production), or one season of an international fiction, docu-fiction, or animation series (at least one in international co-production), or one season of an international fiction, docu-fiction, or animation series, or two entertainment programs for television or platforms with at least one sale to international channels and at least four days of filming in the City of Buenos Aires are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe audiovisual industry, a key sector in Buenos Aires’ economy, attracts international investment, generates thousands of direct jobs, and many other industry-related jobs. It promotes the city to the world and makes it not only an attractive destination for filming but also for tourism,\u201d stated the Minister of Economic Development, Hern\u00e1n Lombardi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the first call for proposals in 2025, 14 proposals were submitted, and five projects were selected, generating 4,000 jobs and $20 million in private investment in the city.<\/p>\n

The selected productions were: “Parque Lezama,” a feature film written and directed by Juan Jos\u00e9 Campanella and produced by 100 Bares Producciones<\/strong> for Netflix; the series “NOA,” produced by FAM for Yair Dori <\/strong>(Israel); seasons 3 and 4 of “Envidiosa,” produced by Kapow<\/strong> for Netflix; “La pistolera,” a feature film produced by Zeppelin <\/strong>for Cross Latam and distributed by Disney+; and “Amor a fondo,” a feature film produced by StoryLab <\/strong>for the Spanish company Panes 360 Contenidos and distributed by Disney.<\/p>\n

The city of Buenos Aires is a central audiovisual hub, home to 70% of the country’s production companies, 46% of its audiovisual programs, and the city where more than 40% of the films made each year are filmed.<\/p>\n
