Shot primarily in the Basque Country and in the Basque language, the film produced by <\/span><strong>Irusoin<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><strong>Ikusgarri Films<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> boasts the largest budget of his career to date. Starring <\/span><strong>I\u00f1igo Aranbarri<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Patria) and <\/span><strong>Fariba Sheikhan<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Salvador; Raqa), the film is a contemporary tale that delves into the most mysterious legend of the Basque coast: HIRU OLATUAK (&#8220;The Three Waves&#8221;). The cast also includes <\/span><strong>Urko Olazabal, I\u00f1aki Beraetxe, Ramon Agirre, Karmele Larrinaga, Bel\u00e9n Cruz, I\u00f1ake Irastorza, Goize Blanco, El\u00edas Garc\u00eda<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><strong>Mikel Losada<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>.<\/strong> The screenplay was co-written by Urkijo and <\/span><b>Caye Casas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a director and writer highly acclaimed in the noir and horror genres for \u2018Matar a Dios\u2019 and \u2018La mesita del comedor\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The multi-award-winning Basque filmmaker <\/span><strong>Paul Urkijo<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> brings to life one of the most enigmatic maritime myths of the Basque coast: the legend of &#8220;The Three Waves.&#8221; According to the director, the story &#8220;recounts the dangers of the sea and its power as an atavistic, pagan deity fearsome and overwhelming.&#8221; For the first time, Urkijo moves away from period pieces to depict the present day, while still maintaining his signature cinematic style. Accompanied by his wife, Marta (Fariba Sheikhan), he returns to his hometown, only to discover that his father has reappeared. There, he descends into a spiral of obsession linked to a mysterious local legend known as \u201cThe Three Waves\u201d (Las tres olas).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As with their previous projects, the production is spearheaded by <\/span><strong>Ikusgarri Films<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>.<\/strong> Following their collaboration on Urkijo\u2019s latest film, \u2018Gaua\u2019, the team has once again partnered with Irusoin the production company behind major hits such as \u2018Handia\u2019, \u2018Loreak\u2019, \u2018The Endless Trench\u2019 (\u2018La trinchera infinita\u2019), \u2018Marco\u2019, and \u2018Maspalomas\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;
