  • “My Wedding is a Trap” has garnered over 9 million views in just three weeks, and Channel 13 will premiere its second vertical-format mini-novela, “The Worker Who Fell in Love with Me,” on October 28 at 6:00 PM.

Channel 13’s mini-novelas, those telenovelas filmed in vertical format and made for viewing on mobile devices and social media, have been a true phenomenon. The first series, “My Wedding is a Trap,” has accumulated 9,217,319 views just three weeks after its premiere. Now the channel is launching its second mini-novela, “The Worker Who Fell in Love with Me,” which will be available to watch, in its 25 episodes, starting this Tuesday, October 28 at 6:00 PM on Channel 13’s Instagram and @mininovelas13, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.

THE PLOT

“The Worker Who Made Me Fall in Love,” written by Jaime Morales and directed by César Opazo, revolves around Amanda León (Carola Varleta), a romance novelist who, in everyone’s eyes, has a perfect marriage with José Luis Sánchez (Hernán Contreras). However, what no one knows is that he’s cheating on her with Rita Garcés (Valentina Acuña), the housemaid, and together they plan to ruin her. Trapped in a life of appearances and unhappiness, Amanda sees everything change when a younger worker, Ángel Manríquez (Lucas Crespo), appears, seemingly straight out of her own books: strong, tough, passionate, the very prototype of the man who awakens her most forbidden desire. What begins as an escape soon turns into a storm of passions, secrets, and lies that could destroy everything.

Prior to the premiere of “El obrero que me enamoró,” Cristián Hernández, digital director of 13, stated that “this second installment of mini-novelas is a product of the success we had with ‘Mi boda es una trampa’ and the thousands of comments on social media asking for a second production. Although we were in production, we didn’t expect to have to launch it so quickly. The millions of initial views of the genre’s debut in Chile have us eager to see how this second installment will be received,” the executive affirms.

Hernández emphasizes that “we are heirs to the history of fiction in Chile. The first national telenovela aired in 1967 on 13’s screens. The biggest and most memorable hits are also ours. In 2025, we are bringing the so-called ‘vertical drama’ genre to the country and honoring the dedication to innovation and quality that 13 currently delivers on all its platforms with 100% Chilean stories and products.”

“The Worker Who Made Me Fall in Love” features a team from Channel 13, including Carmen Gloria Román, Caco Muñoz, Emilio Rodríguez, and Nicolás Figueroa. The cast includes Carola Varleta, Lucas Crespo, Hernán Contreras, Valentina Acuña, and a special guest appearance by Paulina Urrutia in her return to the world of soap operas.

“The Worker Who Made Me Fall in Love” will be available starting Tuesday at 6:00 PM on Channel 13’s Instagram and @mininovelas13, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
