India Pavilion at MIPCOM Cannes 2025
- The comprehensive online platform, designed to connect creators, investors, and businesses across the global media and entertainment ecosystem, participated for the first time at this important event in Cannes.
- India’s Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), a key player in facilitating the country’s services exports, received a great reception.
This year, Waves Bazaar showcased the entire entertainment sector: film and television, live action and animation, video games and esports, music and sound, visual effects, post-production, influencer marketing, comics and e-books, radio and podcasts, XR, VR, and AR, immersive experiences, and live events.
India’s Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) is a key player in facilitating the country’s services exports. Established by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the SEPC has been instrumental in boosting India’s services exports, contributing to the national economy globally, and had a leading role at the Cannes market.
The official government delegation from the Consulate General of India in Marseille also attended MIPCOM to support this important global initiative. The team included Mr. Niraj Kumar, Director of Television at India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Mr. Vikram Singh Malik, Director of WAVES OTT, which operates under the umbrella of Prasar Bharti, India’s public broadcaster.

Niraj Kumar commented, “We are delighted to be here at MIPCOM for the launch of WAVES Bazaar, a bridge between India’s media and entertainment sector and global markets, especially in Europe.”
Vikram Singh Malik added, “We see WAVES Bazaar as a gateway to strong collaborations, and MIPCOM has been successful for our platform. We have connected directly with creatives from around the world, as well as helping Indian creators looking to expand into Europe and beyond, especially in the areas of innovation, technology, and India’s exceptional capabilities in visual effects, augmented reality/virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and post-production services.”
