International Events / Business / Production / Distribution

  • The meeting of producers, distributors, and buyers from the Latin American and US Hispanic audiovisual content industry begins tomorrow, November 18, at the Moon Palace in Cancun.

The event is organized by RX Global, the same organizers of MIP London, MIP Junior, and MIPCOM. This year, the 12th edition, from November 18 to 21, will see an increase in the number of participants and countries. 120 distributors have confirmed their attendance for one-on-one meetings, compared to 115 in 2024.

RX also announces that companies from the Americas will be present for the first time: Bell Media, Blue Ant Media, Lego, Roku, and V10 Entertainment; HRT and Starlight Media from Europe; and TCL from Asia. For the first time, delegations from Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Thailand are attending, bringing the total number of participating countries to 47, up from 40 in 2024.

THE CONFERENCE PROGRAM

Looking ahead, the creator economy will be highlighted, with Juan Pablo Robert, Director of Media Companies for YouTube Latin America, as the keynote speaker at the opening conference. New initiatives include a Brand Funded Programming Track, designed to connect brands, agencies, and producers, as well as the first-ever Leadership Summit (by invitation only), which will bring together some of the region’s most influential thought leaders and decision-makers.

María Pérez-Bellière, Director of MIP Cancún.

María Pérez-Bellière, Director of MIP Cancún, is delighted that this will be a landmark edition for the MIP Cancún community, which continues to evolve, strengthened by new buyers, investors, and a greater diversity of countries, while placing at the heart of the market the key areas shaping the future of the content business. “We are thrilled by the growing number of attendees and the positive response to our new initiatives, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the world’s largest Spanish-language content production hub for what promises to be an inspiring and productive week,” said Pérez-Bellière.

The event will kick off with a special pre-opening afternoon on Tuesday, November 18, featuring the Beyond Streaming Summit, an expanded version of the popular FAST & AVOD: Americas Summit from previous editions. This summit will explore strategies, content curation, and the role of free, ad-supported platforms in the digital ecosystem.
