The second season of Ted, the hit comedy series, consists of eight episodes. The story is set in 1994, and Ted (Seth MacFarlane), the foul-mouthed teddy bear, and his best friend, the likeable but clumsy John Bennett (Max Burkholder), are in their senior year of high school.

They live together in a working-class Boston home with John’s parents (Matty and Susan, Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach), and his cousin (Blaire, Giorgia Whigham). Matty is a boastful, working-class Bostonian who considers himself the undisputed boss of the house and often clashes with his liberal niece.

Susan is kind, selfless, and almost pathologically sweet when it comes to taking care of her family. Blaire is a very outgoing college student who often clashes with her more traditional relatives.

In an official press release written by Seth MacFarlane along with the executive producers, writers, and co-showrunners of Ted, Emmy® winners Paul Corrigan (Modern Family) and Brad Walsh (Coupling), the tone of the second season was revealed. It is marked by both family dynamics and the endearing friendship between the teenager and his loyal talking teddy bear.

“We’ve made a second season of Ted, the series we’re excited to share. The episodes represent the hard work of our fellow writers, talented actors, and talented crew, including the visual effects team that brings the character of Ted to life so convincingly,” they stated.
They also described the eight new episodes as “spicy and heartwarming,” the combination that so delights comedy fans.

3 REASONS WHY TED IS THE MOST BELOVED IRREVERENT COMEDY

Because it puts friendship at its heart. The series is characterized by its unbridled use of humor, addressing relatable issues of high school in particular and adolescence in general, focusing on how unconditional friendship helps navigate those fluctuating times.

Because its comedic timing is impeccable. The signature style of its creator, Seth MacFarlane, is what distinguishes Ted as a unique comedy, with fast-paced and incisive dialogue in which the showrunner aims for absurdist humor where every gag lands perfectly.

Because it celebrates differences. Through the insecurities of its protagonist, John Bennett, Ted displays a profound vulnerability stemming from the conflicts inherent in a young man who, thanks to his friends and family, manages to be comfortable with his personality, with everything that makes him special and different.

The series co-stars its creator, Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), as the unmistakable voice of Ted, and Max Burkholder (Parenthood) as John Bennett. The cast also includes Alanna Ubach (Euphoria) as Susan Bennett, Scott Grimes (Oppenheimer) as Matty Bennett, and Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher) as Blaire Bennett.
