The growth in viewership for the mininovelas premiered by Canal 13—reaching over 150 million views—has the network’s executives excited as they prepare to launch their sixth production. “Un corazón como el tuyo” debuts this June, following the same creative path as previous titles such as “Mi boda es una trampa,” “El obrero que me enamoró,” “Enamorada(s),” “El millonario que quería que lo amaran,” and “Sin receta para ser mamá.”
“Un corazón como el tuyo” focuses on the world of soccer, aligning with the major festivities of the World Cup in June and July. It tells the love story of two young men set against the backdrop of the soccer universe. Last March, the channel launched Chile’s first vertical-format series with an LGBT theme “Enamorada(s), “which became a massive phenomenon and is now following up with a similar venture. This time, the story centers on two young men navigating a relationship filled with challenges and deep emotions. The leads are Lucas Maffei (formerly of the Mega TV series “Generación 98”) and Nicolás Zambrano (a singer and actor known for TVN’s “Talento Rojo” and various musicals, including the current production of “Pretty Woman”).

THE STORY
“Emerson Marcotti” (Lucas Maffei) is a young soccer star and media personality whose career comes to a halt when a sudden health crisis forces him to undergo a life-saving heart transplant an event that sidelines him from the sport. Amidst uncertainty about his future, he meets “Lucas Peña” (Nicolás Zambrano) the former partner of “Gabriel Vélez,” the young man who donated the heart now beating in Emerson’s chest. Emerson begins to feel an intense, inexplicable connection with Lucas that transforms his outlook on life. While those around him appreciate this newfound sensitivity, his father and coach, “Leonardo,” views it as a threat to the career he had always envisioned for his son. In a competitive world steeped in machismo, Emerson must rebuild himself, redefine his identity, and decide how much he is willing to risk to heed the dictates of his new heart.
