MIPTV 2022 returns face-to-face

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event returns this Monday, April 4 through 6, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, with a new three-day format.

After two years of being virtual only, the event returns with a three-day exhibition and conference program, including MIPDoc and MIPFormats and in collaboration with Canneseries.

MIPTV is the longest-running international television market that takes place in Cannes each April and brings together distributors, producers, buyers, and global commissioners of audiovisual programming.

The organization has confirmed a variety of activities, conferences, and screenings, as well as more than 1,200 buyers and 5,000 confirmed attendees, with delegates from 80 countries, with 150 exhibitors presenting themselves in a new design at the Palais des Festivals.

With the return of US studios and networks such as Fox Alternative Entertainment, Sony, Lionsgate, NBCU, Warner Bros., Paramount Global Content Distribution, eOne and A+E, and major streamers such as Netflix, Amazon and HBO Max, among others.

Televisa, TV Azteca, Globo, Caracol Televisión, Chilevisión, Teleonce, Telefe and TVUNAM, among others, participate from Latin America.

Tomorrow, the Sunday before Miptv, the MIPDrama Screenings will take place, with international screenings of new productions from around the world, MIPDoc and MIPFormats will take place in parallel with the event.

This meeting also has an exceptional list of leading figures who will share their experiences. Kevin Mayer and René Rechtman will give the opening speech.

RX’s MIPTV Show, for those unable to travel, will offer its MIPTV Digital Extension, an online add-on that extends the reach of the physical market in Cannes and allows people to connect with all participants at any time.

Starting with an opening party at Riviera 8 on the first day of the event, the program offers many highlights including screenings from companies such as BETA Film, KOCCA, BBC Studios and TBS; conferences such as the Ukrainian panel, Glance’s Market Intel, The Wit’s Fresh TV Fiction, and the mentoring session on diversity and inclusion.
