The global content producer and distributor is launching linear pre-sales for the eight-part contemporary thriller Suspicion starring Academy Award-nominated actress Uma Thurman (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction) at MIPTV. Keshet UK’s high-octane remake of Keshet Broadcasting’s award-winning False Flag will headline KI’s new Spring 2023 slate of drama, formats, and factual tape being unveiled in Cannes.

THE STORY. When the son of a prominent American businesswoman (Thurman) is kidnapped from a New York hotel, the eye of suspicion quickly falls on five seemingly ordinary British citizens. As they find themselves in a trans-Atlantic game of cat-and-mouse to evade the combined forces of the National Crime Agency and the FBI, it becomes apparent that not everyone can be trusted. Who is really behind the mysterious abduction, and who is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Described by the Wall Street Journal as being “as riveting as it is complex”, Keshet UK’s political thriller Suspicion was originally commissioned by Apple TV+. Directed by Chris Long (The Americans), it stars an ensemble cast that also features Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Noah Emmerich (The Americans), Georgina Campbell (Black Mirror), Elyes Gabel (Scorpion), Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of SHIELD), Tom Rhys-Harries (White Lines) and Angel Coulby (The Tunnel) alongside Uma Thurman.

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution says, “We are thrilled to have Suspicion headlining our drama slate this MIPTV as we launch pre-sales for the linear TV rights for Q3 of this year. It’s the perfect foil to our very intimate surrogacy drama A Body that Works, for which Rotem Sela and Gal Malka both won the Best Actress Awards at Series Mania, and our new raft of factual content and formats.”

Meanwhile, Kalel Productions’ newly acquired Undercover: Sexual Harassment – The Truth (1×60’) sits on both KI’s factual and formats slate. Commissioned by Channel 4 in the aftermath of the Sarah Everard tragedy, this jaw-dropping investigation sees journalist Ellie Flynn expose the true extent of sexual harassment towards women of all ages using a series of ground-breaking hidden-camera experiments.
