The Atresplayer series, one of the most acclaimed titles internationally, will be in New York at the NEWFEST festival, one of the most prestigious LGTBIQ+ festivals in America, which will take place from October 10 to 22.
Following its premiere in Spain, “Vestidas de Azul” (Dressed in Blue) has achieved significant success and is now available in over 40 countries worldwide, including Latin America, Portugal, and Baltics.
This journey for (Dressed in Blue) adds to the series’ presence at the Seriesly Festival in Berlin, which runs from September 16th to 18th. On Wednesday, September 18th, the festival will close its first edition with a screening of two episodes of the series, featuring a special appearance by one of the stars, Lola Rodríguez.
The continuation of Veneno, the original atresplayer series created by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, has followed in the footsteps of its predecessor and has captivated audiences around the world. It has received international recognition and critical acclaim, particularly in the US, where it has been hailed as one of the best foreign series in recent years.
The series has already been sold in over 40 countries, including various Latin America, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, and Canada, further confirming the series’ international success.
THE STORY
Started two years after the death of Cristina Rodríguez, as a continuation of the phenomenon ‘Veneno’, another original series by atresplayer. In this second season, Valeria returns to Valencia and finds the VHS of the documentary ‘Vestida de azul’, a film that narrates the experiences of six trans people in Spain in the early 80s. These experiences inspire Valeria’s new book, which once again tells the story of women who do not deserve to be forgotten.
THE PRODUCTION
Is an atresplayer original series produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Suma Content. Montse García, Valeria Vegas and Andrea H. Catalá are the executive producers of the series; Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi are the producers of the fiction. For this new season, ‘Vestidas de Azul’ (Dressed in Blue) features members of the artistic team from ‘Veneno’. Lola Rodríguez will be back in the role of Valeria. In addition, Paca La Piraña, Goya Toledo (Lola), Juani Ruiz, Alex Saint (Sacha), Ángeles Ortega (Manola) and Desirée Vogue (Bienvenida) reprise their characters.
The Original Soundtrack (BSO), edited by Atresmúsica, is created by Álex de Lucas, musician and actor, and Raúl Santos, composer. The two work together again after working together on Veneno, and the result is 21 tracks that masterfully capture the spirit and flavour of the society in which the series is set.
