THE STORY
‘Mamá está dormida’ tells the story of a fifty-three year old man who has always believed he was an only child until the first signs of his mother’s cognitive decline shatter his certainties with an unexpected question: “And your brother where is he?” To discover whether this is a trick of the mind or a long-buried family secret, the two embark on a journey of revelation in a camper van to Vera de Bidasoa, a mountain village shaped by the mother’s past involvement with the ‘Sección Femenina’.
