With great anticipation, the filming of “La Casaca de Dios” has begun. It is inspired by an unusual but true event that revives the incredible and legendary story of Maradona’s blue shirt at the 1986 World Cup, with which he scored the goal of the century and gave God the hand of God against England. The shirt was later auctioned off as the most expensive item in the history of sport. Inspired by an original idea by Ramiro Navarro with the cinematic vision of Ángel Zambrano, the film the original screenplay is by Marcos Carnevale and the film adaptation is by director Fernán Mirás.
In the summer of 1986, Diego Maradona scored the two most legendary goals in football history wearing a last-minute improvised blue jersey. That shirt not only represented Diego’s genius, but also became a symbol of resilience for a country devastated by the Malvina’s War. But what no one knew was that the jersey held an even deeper secret.
THE STORY
Years later, with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on the horizon, Tití Malvestiti (Jorge Marrale) and his daughter Erika (Natalia Oreiro) learn that the legendary jersey is about to be auctioned off by a millionaire collector. For him, this jersey represents much more than a historical object: it is an essential part of his life. Together with his daughter, he embarks on a mission filled with humor, emotion, and courage, a journey where absurdity blends with Argentina’s deep identity.
