Eva Longoria

The American Actress, Director, and Producer will receive recognition for her film career and her work in raising awareness of the Latino community within the American audiovisual industry at the 12th PLATINO Awards.

Famous for her performances in series such as Desperate Housewives, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Tierra de Mujeres; and films such as The Sentinel and Harsh Times.

The actress, director, and producer will be honored with the PLATINO Honorary Award at the 12th edition on April 27, 2025, at the IFEMA Municipal Palace in Madrid, in recognition of her career and her representation of the Latino community in the American industry.

She was born in the United States of Mexican and Spanish descent. She began her career as a guest actress on television dramas such as Beverly Hills, 90210, and General Hospital. She was a cast member of The Young and the Restless. In 2004, she established herself as an international celebrity on the popular ABC comedy series Desperate Housewives.

After appearing in series such as Empire, Devious Maids, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, BoJack Horseman, and Jane the Virgin, she decided to work behind the camera, gaining creative control and greater influence in her film and television projects. At the helm of her production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, she is involved in the production of a wide variety of projects, including the series Grand Hotel, starring Demian Bichir and Roselyn Sánchez.

In 2023, she made her directorial debut with Flamin’ Hot, a biopic about Richard Montañez, who claims to have invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. It garnered Searchlight Pictures’ most-watched streaming release in history and earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “The Fire Inside.” The film was screened at the White House alongside President Joe Biden, as the first film presented there focusing on Latina characters.

The actress has appeared on the big screen in the Apple TV+ film Tierra de Mujeres, which she produced and starred in alongside Carmen Maura. She will soon star in the productions Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Oh. What. Fun., and The Pickup.

She is a philanthropist and activist, lending her voice to the issues she is passionate about: immigration and reproductive rights. For paving the way for future female producers, directors, and industry leaders, she will receive this PLATINO Honor Award.

Its objective is to promote and disseminate the Ibero-American film and audiovisual industry, fostering its recognition and expansion worldwide. Throughout its editions, it has had venues in Panama, Spain, Uruguay, and Mexico, bringing together the most prominent figures in the sector.
