Telefe and Disney+ announce the arrival of ‘Popstars’, the music format from Banijay Entertainment that defined a generation. Hosted by Nico Vázquez, this new edition will combine emotion, talent, and artistic challenges with a behind-the-scenes look at the intense and wonderful process of forming a music group.
‘Popstars’ features a star-studded jury comprising three leading figures from different generations and styles who represent the current music industry. Ángela Torres, a renowned Argentine singer and actress, has built an outstanding career across television, theater, and music, establishing herself as one of her generation’s most versatile artists. Nicki Nicole, one of the most influential voices in Latin American urban music, achieved international acclaim with hits that led her to perform on the world’s biggest stages and collaborate with prominent global artists. Rounding out the prestigious jury is Mexican music producer Charlie García responsible for the artistic development of numerous Latin music projects and talents whose experience and strategic vision will be key to guiding the contestants’ growth throughout the competition.
Strategic Agreement Between Telefe and Disney+
As part of this strategic agreement between Telefe and Disney+, ‘Popstars’ will air simultaneously on Telefe and the streaming service. Following each broadcast, the episode will be available on Disney+ alongside ‘Mucho más Popstars’, exclusive content that expands the viewer experience with unique access to rehearsals, backstage moments, the contestants’ shared living experience, never-before seen footage, and exclusive material. The show will also have an additional broadcast window on the linear Disney Channel, available 24 hours after its premiere.
