TelevisaUnivision announces the production of its new telenovela, *Te Esperaba* (I Was Waiting for You), produced by Silvia Cano. It tells the story of Sofía and Antonio, both wounded by past heartbreak; their unexpected meeting confirms that love—however impossible it may seem—has the power to heal broken souls and give life new meaning.

THE STORY
Valentina Buzzurro will play Sofía Canseco, an intelligent, sensitive young woman with a great capacity for facing challenges. She works at an advertising, marketing, and public relations agency. She is a firm believer in love, though her perspective is shaken by painful experiences that force her to reevaluate her priorities. Her story is, at its core, that of a woman who discovers that loving also entails growth and learning.
David Chocarro will bring Antonio Reyes to life—a successful, cultured, and elegant man. A food engineer, he has built his life around his work. Despite his serious demeanor, he possesses a sensitive, human side and is deeply loving toward his children. Throughout the story, he is compelled to question who he truly is and what it means to be happy. In this process, he discovers that true strength lies in rebuilding oneself and opening one’s heart to new opportunities.
Silvia Cano began her career at Televisa in 1996 within the entertainment and content division. She worked as a production assistant for Florinda Meza on *La dueña* and later as a production manager on *Alguna vez tendremos alas*. She has also worked with producers such as Roberto Gómez Fernández, Giselle González, and Rosy Ocampo.
‘Te Esperaba’ is based on the Filipino telenovela ‘Un Amor Duradero’. It was adapted by Juan Pablo Balcázar, Rosana Curiel, Cecilia Piñeiro, and Mariana Achcar. The production by Silvia Cano will premiere on Las Estrellas in the 8:30 PM time slot during the first quarter of 2027.
