The signal driven by Paul Scotellaro, was officially launched in Montevideo. In front of political representatives, different department leaders, Uruguayan entities, CUTA, ANDEBU, internationals as TEPAL and ATVC, was officially unveiled Channel U, a signal that seeks to reflect the national identity with original and local content productions.
Sustainability of Channel U is backed by the enormous amount of support that we have generated in a short time and the large investments that have been made for its gestation. The need for a channel like this was reflected in the significant agreements and commitments signed with different countries, entities, institutions and associations,” said Pablo Scotellaro.
The executive added that Canal U signed an agreement with the Uruguayan’s Television Subscribers Chamber (CUTA), which allows them to have a presence in most cable operators in the country and Press Release which has a wide regional distribution.
Channel U reaches the region through Cablevision and independent operators. It can be seen on pay TV platforms for subscribers around the Uruguayan territory, reaching a 60% penetration in Argentina and Paraguay, 50% in Chile and 70% in Colombia. The signal will include social networks and multi-platform website that will complement the offer.
The team that integrates Channel U, is composed by Oscar Estevez as Programming Director, Robert Rocha as Executive Director and Manuel Soto as Membership Director.
