“Roskino” will participate in Cannes International Film Market Marché du Film, which will be held online from June 22 to 26 this year. Over ten film companies have confirmed their participation in the event.
The virtual pavilion will become the main platform for the promotion of domestic cinema in the international market this year. The platform’s work program includes presentations of completed projects, projects in post-production, online-screenings, video meeting and online discussions.
“We do not consider the Russia pavilion in the Cannes Film Market as separate studio projects – for us it is a presentation of domestic film projects in general, an opportunity to show our partners the diversity and high quality of our films. According to the result of the last-year Marché du Film, Russian films were released in more than 100 countries, and I hope that we will be able to maintain the positive dynamics of promoting Russian content abroad despite the format that is unusual for everyone”, – observed Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
«Marché du film remains the key international market for Russian film companies. Despite the fact that the global film industry is in volatile situation, the online format allows to present new Russian movies and animation films to international partners in a virtual pavilion. We see that the trend on Russian content remains, we are witnessing an increasing interest to the market that was confirmed by Key Buyers Event: Digital Edition that has just finished. We are sure that at the Cannes Film Market, companies will be able to continue the negotiations initiated at the Key Buyers Event and finalize deals, and Roskino, for its part, will continue to fulfill its function of the main source of information on the Russian delegation and the national industry as a whole for international partners”, – shared Evgenia Markova, CEO of Roskino.
There will be held an online session of the Roskino company “Experience of Producers in International Co-Production,” during the film market on June 22, at 2 p.m. Natalya Drozd, Jussi Rantamäki, Artiyom Vasiliev and Dariusz Jablonski, Ilya Stuart and Sold Bondi will be the event speakers. They will discuss the co-production international projects and share their impressions of working in Russia. Evgenia Markova, CEO of Roskino will moderate the discussion. You can watch the discussion on June 22 at 2 p.m.
