The company consolidates itself as an integral producer of biopcis, after the success of “Apache, la vida de Carlos Tévez” and the recent premiere of “Contigo Capitán”.

“We are happy with the recent opening of our offices and studios in Colombia”. Leonardo De Pinto, Regional Director of Tournament Content.

The company dedicated to the sports entertainment industry announced the signing of an agreement with the iconic Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita to produce a series about his life.

“René Higuita is one of the most beloved athletes in Colombia and throughout the continent and we are proud that he trusts us to tell a powerful and fantastic story like his. We are happy with the recent opening of our offices and studios in Colombia. A demonstration of our commitment to the development of the Colombian audiovisual industry and the value proposition that we bring to the country”, assured Leonardo De Pinto, regional director of TORNEOS Content.

In turn, René Higuita said “just as I was captivated by the Torneos proposal, without a doubt this series will conquer the audience, because it will allow them to discover aspects of my life that have not been known until now.”

Torneos adds its fourth fiction and continues to establish itself as one of the main producers of sports biopics in the region. The company produced ““Apache, la vida de Carlos Tévez” and the recent premiere of “Contigo Capitán”, which tells the story of the doping case that almost left Peruvian soccer figure Paolo Guerrero without a World Cup.

This year, Torneos also co-produced its first film, “Pensamiento Lateral”, starring Itziar Ituño, actress from “La Casa de Papel”.

René Higuita is one of the greatest exponents of Colombian soccer and marked a milestone by being one of the first goalkeepers in history to kick penalties and free kicks.

He started his career at Millonarios in 1985 and won five titles, with the 1989 Copa Libertadores as his greatest achievement. He also played for Real Valladolid (Spain), Tiburones Rojos (Mexico). With the Colombian national team, he participated in five editions of the Copa América and played in the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Beyond sports, Higuita has a very intense history on a personal level.
