The second season of the Colombian series created by the Venezuelan playwright Leonardo Padrón enjoys success on the platform that with this story accumulates millions of viewers.

The production, where the actress and singer Mariaca Semprún performs, who performs three songs, became global number one among non-English-language productions.

The Venezuelan singer and actress Mariaca Semprún celebrated the successes of the second season of the Netflix series “Pálpito”, where three songs from her EP “La Tormenta Tropical” appear.

THE STORY. It is the tragedy lived by Simón Duque (Michel Brown), an actor and pizzaiolo who loses the love of his life, Valeria (Margarita Muñoz) in a plot of organ trafficking. The second season is shorter, 10 episodes as opposed to 14 in the first season.

Semprún also acts and personifies a singer, “Nicky Guerra”, who is the protagonist’s best friend. In the opening week, “Pálpito” was number one and currently ranks fourth in the top ten on Netflix.

“I feel double happy, as a singer and actress. That is a path that I aspire to continue experimenting with,” said Mariaca.

The songs on the EP “La Tormenta Tropical” are “Sway – ¿Quién Será?”, “They call me Nicky Guerra” and “Amado Mío”. The musical style is tropical and goes through genres such as bachata and salsa and even includes a Latin big band sound.

“La Tormenta Tropical” is her fourth album. The most recent one was released in 2020, titled “Soy Puro Teatro (Homage to La Lupe)”, and earned two Latin Grammy nominations in the categories Best Traditional Tropical Album and Best Packaging Design. Finally she won the Latin Grammy in this last category.
