The company with high quality content has managed to close six agreements for the first time with SVOD and channels in the growing CEE market.
ZDF Studios is a commercial subsidiary of ZDF, one of the largest television broadcasters in Europe, founded in 1993 and based in Mainz, Germany with a huge catalog that includes a variety of genres and has added six new ones to its global portfolio customers from the growing Eastern European market.
Mediavivantis from Hungary (pay TV), Vivacom Bulgaria (pay TV), ProTV from Romania (pay TV and free TV), Polish free-to-air TV channels Stopklatka and TVS, as well as Pickbox Croatia and the Balkans (pay TV) and SVOD have acquired a range of scripted programs.

Mediavivantis in Hungary, with its pay television channels Life TV and Ozone TV, licensed several romantic films, including titles from the Rosamunde Pilcher collection. The popular series, filmed in beautiful Cornwall, is based on Pilcher’s best-selling novels with sales of more than 30 million copies worldwide.

Bulgaria’s Vivacom acquired The Window (10 x 45′) and the hospital drama Dr. Klein (62 x 45′) for the pay TV channel. The Window, a thriller set in the world of professional football created by BAFTA and International Emmy Award-winning screenwriter James Payne (The Musketeers, Hooten and the Lady, Mr Selfridge).
Other channels include ProTV’s Romanian free TV Acasa and Polish regional channel TVS (Free TV) have acquired a selection of Rosamunde Pilcher films and the latter has also acquired titles from the Inga Lindström Collection and The Dream Voyage Collection.
Pickbox, with SVOD and pay TV services in Croatia and the Balkans, has licensed 8 films from the Reel One Entertainment catalog distributed by ZDF Studios.
ZDF Studios owns a catalog that includes dramas, series, miniseries, television movies, documentaries, children’s programs and more.
