Musicians from various countries around the world reveal the wide horizon of the genius of Algeciras at the Paco de Lucía Legacy festival.

The second day of the Paco de Lucía Legacy festival, which has been taking place throughout this week in New York City, has shown that the music of the genius from Algeciras is a phenomenon without borders.
At the Symphony Space, Arturo O’Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra paid tribute to the artist through a repertoire in which they performed their own compositions along with titles such as Solo Quiero Caminar, Zyriab, Caña de Sugar, Canción de Amor or Entre dos Aguas conveniently arranged for the orchestral format, reinforced by exceptional guests such as pianist Alex Conde, guitarist Antonio Rey, harmonica player Antonio Serrano, singer Chonchi Heredia, dancer Karime Amaya or the percussionist Rubem Dantas, who brought the audience to applause and cheers.
The event brings together a cast of Spanish artists influenced by Paco de Lucía, who remembered the strength and expressive freedom of the artist: Josemi Carmona, Javier Colina, Israel Suárez ‘Piraña’, Chano Domínguez, Jorge Pardo, Tino di Geraldo and the special collaboration of Farru.
The Cervantes Institute in New York hosted the presentation of the book El enigma Paco de Lucía by its author, the journalist César Suárez.
Yesterday, February 22, El Piraña, and Makarines taught a compás master class at KJCC-NYU, while the night was full of surprises at Town Hall with Flamenco Summit Meets New York. Flamenco, Jazz, Latin and African music such as Niño Josele, Rubén Blades, Josemi Carmona, Antonio Rey, Richard Bona and Pepe Habichuela. The event features dancers Farruquito, Karime Amaya and Farru. The program includes Alain Pérez, Rafael Riqueni, Antonio Sánchez and Silvia Pérez Cruz.
On February 24, Quad Cinema will host the screening of the film The Search, by Curro Sánchez, son of Paco de Lucía, about the figure of his father. And at the Ángel Orensanz Foundation, the unreleased album Pepito y Paquito will be presented and the festival will officially close.
