NATPE BUDAPEST 2024: Key bridge between the CEE region and the rest of the world.

‘We have everything ready for a unique meeting between Eastern Europe and the rest of the word. ‘350 buyers and more than 110 exhibitors confirmed,’ Claire Macdonald, SVP, executive director NATPE GLOBAL, told TVMAS.

Eastern Europe is a key player in the media industry and the audiovisual sector. In this conversation with TVMAS, the experienced and renowned executive, Claire Macdonald of the Canadian Brunico Group, gave key figures that are exciting.

‘We are thrilled with the industry’s response to NATPE Budapest this year. We already have over 110 exhibitors confirmed, including industry heavyweights like A+E Media Group, BBC Studios, NBCUniversa Global TV Distribution, Paramount Global Content Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, TelevisaUnivision and Warner Bros. International Television Production.

‘The goal is to take the success of 2023 to another level and continue to be the key scenario for business development in this emerging and promising region. The appointment is June 24 to 27, 2024 at the Intercontinental Hotel, in Budapest, Hungary’

THE MOTIVATION OF BUYERS

She said more than 350 buyers representing more than 60 countries will arrive, motivated by screenings from A+E, Antenna Studios, Sony Pictures Television and ZDF Studios and a lineup of speakers who will start discussions and reveal ideas ranging from cutting-edge technologies to the latest trends and challenges facing the industry.

NEWS & INITIATIVES: WITHOUT SCRIPT AND NON-FICTION

‘We will have Realscreen, the world’s leading authority on non-scripted and non-fiction screen enternainment programming, a special track dedicated to the genre with panels and networking sessions for producers in CEE’.

Being close to an event like the one that C21 Media is preparing in Poland, after the withdrawal of Hungary following the dispute over the CEE market in 2023. What is your strategy and that of the Canadian Brunico Group to succesfully close shis second meeting in Budapest?

We are surpassing last year in number buyers and exhibitors. As of today in this conversation, there are two months left and we have rung out of meetings tables. Last year, we received a 98% approval rating. It is an indicator of increase for exhibitors and buyers by 2024.

The expert anticipates the strategy and route to follow. ‘Our goal is to produce global market-leading events and we are very pleased with the direction we are heading.’
