THE STORY

In the plot, set in the 1950s, Beatriz (Duda Santos, from ‘Renacer’) believes since she was four years old that she was abandoned by her mother, Clarice (Carol Castro from ‘Huérfanos de su Tierra’). But she doesn’t know that, in reality, Clarice lost her memory in a serious accident. Sixteen years later, when she finally discovers her mother’s whereabouts, Beatriz runs into another Bia (Maisa) in her place and needs to deal with this new reality, beginning a journey – full of obstacles – of reconciliation with the past.

“Our telenovela is a fable of hope. At the same time, it provokes some reflections. Society has changed a lot since then, but many issues, unfortunately, are still very current. We are going to bring the whole atmosphere of that time, but also make people think about how we could be in a different reality if we had evolved in some aspects,” says Alessandra.

By João Emanuel Carneiro (‘Avenida Brasil’), with artistic direction by Carlos Araujo, ‘Manía de Ti’ also stands out in the Content Americas portfolio. Broadcast in prime time in Brazil, the telenovela begins with the friendship between two young people, Viola (Gabz from ‘Amor Perfecto’) and Luma (Agatha Moreira, from ‘Verdades Secretas’), who seem predestined to enter into each other’s lives. With a journey divided between complicity and rivalry, which includes them in a love quartet with Mavi (Chay Suede, from ‘Corazón de Madre’) and Rudá (Nicolas Prattes, from ‘Todas las Flores’) and is impacted by a series of circumstances, twists and surprises, such as the secret surrounding a murder.

In unscripted formats, Globo launches ‘Clase de Cocina!’, a culinary competition reality show in which famous people who do not know how to cook participate and in which the presenter has the fun mission of turning them into chefs, and ‘Haciendo la Fiesta’, in which in each episode a children’s party is held using the maxim of “do it yourself”, in which simple and inventive ideas are the differential. In scripted formats, the soap operas ‘La Vida Sigue’, ‘Totalmente Diva’ and ‘Verdades Secretas’ are the highlights of the event. Within this business model, the company recently announced at MIPCOM the sale of ‘Intolerantes’ to Greece and German-speaking countries/regions and ‘Justicia ‘Justicia: La vida no es justa’ to Greece.

Angela Colla, director of International Business and Co-productions

“We have a varied portfolio that shows that Globo can be a strategic partner for different business models, depending on the needs of the client. Content Americas is the first major event of the year, where we can strengthen relationships with our partners and foster new conversations. We are excited about the opportunities that will arise throughout 2025, which is a year of celebration for Globo, with the brand’s centenary, the 60th for TV Globo and the 10th for Globoplay,” says Angela Colla, Director of International Business and Co-productions.
