“Do you want to win over the Turkish audience? Here are some keys.

Before D6 Media, she was the general manager of Alim Yapım, a Turkish production company with great local and international recognition.

After September 2024, the experienced and renowned producer decided to create her company. “I am ready for the production of projects that bring us closer together. Currently, we are working on a beautiful film series based on the stories of close male friendship by journalist and author Selin Ongun, which I am focusing a lot on.”

D6 Media is a young and dynamic production company based in Istanbul, Turkey. “My thing is making movies and series that make people happy. We are professionals in making fun and enjoyable things that make people laugh and connect with each other. We don’t like dark and heavy things.”

Among the projects for 2025 he mentions a family comedy film (title to be confirmed) in feature-length format. And she says “It is a family comedy designed to resonate with audiences of all ages, mixing humor with emotional moments. “We are currently in talks with a major digital platform for its release” and says that the company has in progress for 2025 Adnan Arduman’s Komşudaki Hamamböcekleri, an adaptation for a feature film. “A sharp and witty adaptation of the famous novel, exploring human relationships and the absurdities of life. This project reflects our commitment to literary authenticity and cinematic storytelling.”

Another project is a psychological thriller and police series, a 10-episode drama series. This series follows the story of a university student who gets involved in crime, exploring the psychological and social factors behind his transformation.

Derya knows this: “Turkish viewers love emotionally engaging and culturally rich stories. Here are some of the most popular genres in Turkey: dramas, comedies, historical and epic series, crime and thrillers. Turkish viewers are captivated by emotional stories that deal with universal themes such as loyalty, betrayal, love and family conflicts. Example: Kardeşlerim, Yaprak Dökümü.

Romantic comedies and dramas are very popular and combine passionate love stories with relatable conflicts. Example: Aşk-ı Memnu, Erkenci Kuş.

Historical and epic series: Productions focusing on Ottoman and Turkish history resonate with a wide audience. Example: Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Muhteşem Yüzyıl.

Crime and Thriller: Crime-based thriller narratives dealing with revenge, morality and tension have a huge following. Example: Çukur, Kurtlar Vadisi.

Comedy: Light-hearted situational and humorous stories drawn from everyday life are a favourite with many. Example: Leyla ile Mecnun, Avrupa Yakası.

YOUTH PROGRAMMES: Programmes aimed at this particular target group, often focusing on love, friendship and modern challenges, are immensely popular. Example: Aşk 101, Medcezir.
