TELEFE RECORDED THE BEST JUNE IN THE HISTORY OF ARGENTINE TV WITH A 53.36% SHARE

Telefe closed the month with an average share of 53.36% and a 9.12 rating, marking the best June in the history of Argentine television and setting an all-time audience record. On 19 of the month’s 30 days, Telefe outperformed the combined total of all other broadcast channels. Furthermore, at the close of the first half of the year, Telefe achieved an average share of 47.82%, the highest in the history of Argentine TV. June was marked by the return of World Cup broadcasts, featuring record-breaking viewership for every match and a top-tier journalism team across all platforms.

The Argentina vs. Austria match averaged a 35.04 rating and an 85.43% share, making it the most-watched broadcast TV event since the Qatar World Cup final on December 18, 2022 the day Argentina was crowned world champion. The #CumpleLEO campaign, launched by Telefe to celebrate Leo Messi’s birthday, was a resounding success: it was a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) in Argentina throughout the day and garnered over 32 million impressions.  Excluding sports, Telefe also aired the 25 most-watched programs of the month: taking first place was the ‘Gran Hermano Father’s Day Special, with a 12.57 rating and a 63.27% audience share, followed by the ‘Gran Hermano’ Elimination Gala, with a 12.56 rating and a 61.03% share. 

For the ninth consecutive year, Telefe’s news division which leads across all time slots topped the media trust rankings compiled by the Reuters Institute (part of the University of Oxford). According to a global study conducted across 48 countries with over 100,000 respondents during the first quarter of 2026, 61% of people in Argentina identify Telefe Noticias as the country’s most trusted news source. Across all its platforms, Telefe reached 37.4 million people, representing 80.5% of Argentina’s population. Telefe’s streaming services reached 8.8 million unique live users (unduplicated) and generated 42.4 million views, driven by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ‘Anda pa Allá’, ‘La Cumbre’, ‘El React de Gran Hermano’, and other key content. The Argentine national team’s final friendly match against Iceland drew 1.4 million unique users and a peak of 704,800 concurrent live users.

Telefe boasts a social media community exceeding 50.1 million followers. It is the largest among TV channels and surpasses digital competitors as well. Across all its accounts, it achieved 1.3 billion video views and 56.7 million engagements, reaching an unduplicated audience of 16.9 million people.
