José Antonio Antón (Atresmedia) will deliver a keynote on the group’s innovation strategy, while Javiera Balmaceda and Nicole Morganti (Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios) will analyze the keys to developing local stories capable of winning over global audiences.

Iberseries & Platino Industria has unveiled a new preview of the conference program for its sixth edition, taking place from September 29 to October 2 at Matadero Madrid. Organized by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya—in collaboration with FIPCA and supported by Madrid Film Office and Madrid Film Region this major professional gathering for the Ibero-American audiovisual sector will once again bring together leading executives, platforms, studios, and production companies. The event features a high-level agenda of keynotes, lectures, and panels designed to analyze the transformation of the audiovisual business and the trends shaping the industry’s future.

Innovation as a driver of business leadership and the ability of local stories to capture global audiences will be two central themes of this sixth edition’s conference program. The first of these sessions will be the keynote “Constant Transformation: The Secret to Atresmedia’s Success,” delivered by José Antonio Antón, General Manager of Atresmedia. He will share the strategy that has enabled the group to consolidate its leadership in an increasingly competitive audiovisual market by making continuous innovation a cornerstone of its business model.

During his presentation, he will explain how Atresmedia has transformed its content lifecycle through a hybrid model designed to integrate linear television and the ‘atresplayer’ digital ecosystem from the very start, thereby maximizing the reach and value of every production. He will also address the role of strategic international partnerships with companies such as Disney+, Netflix, ViX, ZDF, and ITV. These alliances have helped expand the global reach of Spanish productions and demonstrated that collaborating with international platforms can strengthen brand value, boost creative ambition, and multiply the impact of local fiction.

The international dimension of audiovisual production will also take center stage in “Amazon MGM Studios: Connection — Local Stories with Global Impact” a conversation featuring Javiera Balmaceda, Head of International Originals for Latin America, Canada, and Australia at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, and Nicole Morganti, Head of International Originals for Italy and Southern Europe at Prime Video.

Both executives will share key insights into the strategy Amazon MGM Studios uses to identify, develop, and produce local stories capable of connecting with audiences worldwide, blending market-specific authenticity with an international perspective. They will analyze how the studio adapts content to the sensibilities and preferences of each territory while maintaining the narrative elements that transcend borders and resonate with global audiences—a strategy that has driven Prime Video’s international growth and solidified the value of its original productions.

The session will also offer an exclusive preview of upcoming studio releases and its strategic vision for the evolution of the audiovisual market leading up to 2027, focusing on opportunities that will continue to fuel the international growth of Spanish- and Portuguese-language stories.

With this latest announcement, Iberseries & Platino Industria reaffirms its commitment to bringing together leading international figures in the sector to reflect on the changes redefining the audiovisual industry. Over four days, Matadero Madrid will once again serve as a major hub for the Ibero-American audiovisual sector, fostering knowledge exchange, business development, and the creation of new opportunities for international collaboration.
