This appointment is part of Banijay Americas’ expansion of global project production from its Mexico City offices. A Fábrica México & U.S. Hispanic  a production unit of the international conglomerate Banijay Americas has officially appointed filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer Max Zunino as Executive Director of Development. He will oversee and coordinate scripted fiction projects, working directly with Santiago Zapata and the company’s technical teams to define content strategies aimed at Spanish-speaking audiences.

REASONS FOR THE APPOINTMENT

Zunino’s appointment aims to boost the creation of local narratives capable of securing a place in international distribution catalogs. The filmmaker has a background in on-demand series, having directed ‘Colisión’ for HBO Max and ‘El Dentista’ for ViX. He has also been part of the writing teams for the drama ‘Tijuana (Netflix), Freddy Larios (Amazon Prime Video), and the project *Los Últimos Análogos*, developed by Gaumont.

Content strategy and regional partnerships

Santiago Zapata, Executive Vice President of Content at A Fábrica México & U.S. Hispanic, explained the choice by highlighting that Zunino’s dual perspective as both a writer and a director adds strength to scripts during the pre-production phase. Their tenure will focus on outlining work methodologies to streamline the design of original formats, facilitating cross-collaboration between the production company’s teams and specialists from Endemol Shine Boomdog the local parent company housing its operational structure.

A Fábrica México & U.S. Hispanic conducts commercial activities under the general direction of Luiz Noronha and is part of EndemolShine Boomdog’s infrastructure in Mexico City. The division, which formally began operations in 2025, maintains a portfolio of projects in the design stage, including strategic agreements with creators in the audiovisual industry—such as the joint development deal signed with Venezuelan writer and screenwriter Leonardo Padrón.
