During Asia TV Forum , Global producer and distributor Fremantle have completed a deal with broadcaster ABS-CBN for the Fremantle and 19 Entertainment co-owned format Idols, one of the most successful entertainment formats of all time.
ABS-CBN currently partner with Fremantle in the region on Pilipinas Got Talent and will launch the new series of Search for the Idol Philippines in 2019. Idols has local versions in production across Asia in India, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
Idols is the biggest search for a solo pop superstar ever. It’s the show that gives the public the unique opportunity to launch the career of the next pop idol.

Since its launch in 2001, Idols has become a worldwide phenomenon and has produced a huge number of singing superstars around the globe, with over 700 million viewers having tuned into the show. A total of 281 series have been produced worldwide, across 54 territories including ABC (US), RCN (Colombia), HMTV (Cambodia), M6 (France), Dragon TV (China), TV Nova (Czech Republic), RTL (Germany), RCTI (Indonesia), TV2 (Norway), TV4 (Sweden), Optima Media Group (Nigeria), TV3 (Estonia), MBC Group (Pan-Arab), Nelonen (Finland), Sony TV (India) and Mzansi Magic (South Africa).
