Ángel Zambrano, president of Condeco (United States), and Ramiro Navarro, president of Frontera Films (Argentina) announced a co-development alliance for the IP “La Casaca de Dios”, “God’s soccer jersey” the secret story behind the shirt that Diego Maradona wore in the mythical match against England in the Mexico 86 World Cup. In a comedy tone and with a format not yet defined, tells the story of three friends who, in the midst of the crisis of the forties, discover that the shirt that Maradona wore in the goal of “La mano de Dios” and the best goal in the history of the World Cups is exhibited neither more nor less than in an English museum. Convinced that they cursed her so that Argentina will not win a World Cup again, they embark on the most risky adventure of their lives: steal the shirt and bring it back to Argentina.
Zambrano Said: “I’ve known Ramiro for a while and we wanted to get something to work on together. After reviewing this story, we quickly agreed that we had something wonderful on our hands and we wanted to develop it. It is a comedy that can be seen by all audiences and we believe that audiences are going to get something fun and exciting. ”
Navarro added: “We are proud and it is a privilege for me and the company to be able to work alongside an executive with such experience as Ángel. We come together in a unique project, different from all of them, because the story behind the shirt is not only exciting, but very few people know about it. We are co-developing with a team of scriptwriters what will be a family comedy that crosses three generations due to the particularity of the story ”.
The idea of the “La Casaca de Dios” was created by Navarro in the middle of the pandemic. He presented it to Zambrano, who quickly identified it as a project to carry out on a large scale. Both companies are working on the script and plan to start production in 2021.
