CNN in Spanish presents an interview of Fareed Zakaria with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine

INTERVIEWS / INTERNATIONAL NEWS

The channel presents an interview by Fareed Zakaria, with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky about the current situation in his country after the invasion of Russia and affirms that if the negotiations fail it would lead to the third world war

CNN in its statement anticipates part of the interview and says that the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that he is willing to negotiate with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, but warned that if that effort fails, the fight between the two countries would lead to a third World war.

“I was ready for the last two years. And I think that without negotiations, we cannot end this war,” Zelensky told Fareed Zakaria.

“If there is only a 1% chance of stopping this war, I think we have to take advantage of this opportunity. We are losing people every day, innocent people,” he explained.

“The Russian forces have come to exterminate us, to kill us. And we can show the dignity of our people and our army, that we are capable of dealing a powerful blow, of fighting back. But, unfortunately, our dignity will not preserve lives.” So I think we have to use any format, any opportunity to have a chance to negotiate, chance to talk with Putin,” Zelensky added.

The interview will be presented by CNN (today, Tuesday, March 22) at 9 p.m. (Miami time).
