With the slogan “CONNECTING THE SPORTS BUSINESS INDUSTRY IN THE AMERICAS” the event brought together leaders from all continents in Miami on May 9 and 10.
The event closed its doors with a taste of satisfaction. This was expressed by its organizers and the participants interviewed by TVMAS.
37 countries represented, including: 38% Europe, 57% America and 5% others (Asia & Middle East…).
“The event featured a streamlined two-day format as part of the “Rendez-vous” series and has been really effective because we’ve had more time to meet with clients and friends,” said Rochelle C. Cuyco Assistant Vice President of Affiliate and Marketing Development PGN (Pilipinas Global Network) business.
Hosted once again in beautiful Biscayne Bay at the Downtown Miami Marriott and strategically following the Miami F1 Grand Prix weekend, the event brought together the top decision makers in the Americas, from the business industry sports.
During two days of intensive work, business meetings, a courtyard chat by top executives, master classes and innovative presentations, SPORTEL Rendez-vous Miami proved that it is a standard-setting event as the epicenter of growing sports business in the Americas.
“There are many participants from different continents, but the important thing is that this event brings together a regionalized community in the Americas, to establish new contacts,” said Ryu Takagi from PLM and who also explained to TVMAS how Baseball is the number one sport in Japan. “PLM is a business company with our greatest strengths in the digital and video fields and this event is a wonderful space to boost our business in the Americas.”

“With more than 400 participants, 250 companies (including 25% that had not attended the event before, confirms the importance of holding a meeting in the Americas and we will continue to develop SPORTEL, particularly with a presence in other regions of the world, said Laurent Puons, CEO of Monaco Mediax.
The level of international speakers and sessions with current issues for decision-making was part of the program that the participants appreciated.
Sandrine Durand, co-founder & VP of Channel Development at SOFAST, told TVMAS that “This event is vital at a time when FAST channels are booming”.
Discussions focused on private equity investment, the growth of F1 and motorsports in the US, OTT, live sports streaming and FAST channels, media rights in women’s sports, evolutions in content production and distribution, AI data, the cloud and much more”.
The renovated event offered table meetings in a single room, in exhibitor suites, meeting and networking modules, a stage to monetize sports content and the acquisition of disruptive technologies for the industry.
Laurent Puons in the closing statement concluded: “We thank the participants, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and partners for their continued support. We hope to see you at our next flagship event, SPORTEL Monaco, from October 23-25, 2023, which will welcome more than 2,000 participants to network and do business. We are proud to announce that even before registrations officially open, more than 80% of the show floor has already been sold.”
