NATPE GLOBAL AND WAWA close agreement

The highly anticipated return of NATPE now called NATPE Global will take place January 16-18, 2024 at the InterContinental Hotel located on the edge of the beautiful bay in downtown Miami

The event has sealed a multifaceted partnership with the Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association (WAWA) to promote women in the global audiovisual sector

“We are absolutely thrilled to embark on this long-term relationship with WAWA, which has quickly established itself as a powerful force for good in the international audiovisual community,” said Claire Macdonald, CEO of NATPE Global. “Launching a mentoring program and an exclusive event for women leaders is a natural progression of our collaboration.”

“The mission of our association is to establish a strong presence in all major international markets. Last month, we reached a significant milestone of surpassing 500 members. This achievement is a testament to the volunteer work of many people. After an absence of four years, we return to NATPE, having successfully overcome several of the most formidable challenges the audiovisual industry has faced. As our Board of Directors emphasizes, ‘We are truly stronger together,'” added Roxana Rotundo, President of the WAWA Board of Directors.

WAWA and NATPE Global will team up to host the Wonder Women mentoring program, comprised of 10 to 12 female students from audiovisual programs at Florida International University, with Maggie Salas-Amaro Castellón, Director of Canela Kids, leading recruitment. WAWA will manage the program and all participants will receive free access to NATPE Global.

WAWA will have a major market presence in January, including a 600-square-foot pavilion and will kick off an exclusive annual WAWA-NATPE Wonder Women Luncheon, taking place on January 17 at the InterContinental Miami, featuring the ‘ WAWA’s 2023 Woman of the Year Award in an inspiring afternoon of networking and conversation.

Moderated by Cynthia Hudson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CNN en Español, the exclusive panel will examine changes in the industry, business models and adaptation in recent years, and explore the unprecedented changes that the industry.

NATPE Global will be the title sponsor of WAWA First Look Turkey, scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2024. The annual online event will showcase Turkish content from key distributors that will be available for licensing in Miami later in the month.
