BRAND AND BUSINESS EXPANSION | SOUTH KOREA | LATIN AMERICA
The Korea Creative Agency (KOCCA) revealed its intention to increase the agency’s global expansion to different territories in Latin America during the K-Content Expo in Mexico City, the first exhibition dedicated to the purchase and sale of Korean formats and content in the region.
In July, during the K-Content Expo in London, the opening of KOCCA México Center at the end of this year was announced, but this will be only the first step of an expansion strategy that the agency is carrying out in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea.
Offices and new K-Content Expo-style events will open in the selected territory. The countries considered for expansion are Argentina, Peru or Brazil, the last of these starting with a clear advantage due to the interest of KOCCA and its representatives in bringing the formats to new languages such as Portuguese.
The popularity of K-Pop and Korean dramas such as ‘The Squid Game’, a ratings phenomenon for Netflix, coupled with successful adaptations of formats in the region amplify the work to continue consolidating South Korean content.
