The MoU is to develop and co-produce premium fiction content.

The co-production is for original films and series that will premiere as Globoplay Originals in Brazil and on Telemundo’s broadcast and streaming platforms in the US.

This collaboration builds on the strong relationship the two companies have maintained for several years and reinforces their joint commitment to expanding the reach of their projects in the content markets of the United States, Brazil, and globally.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Telemundo and Globo will collaborate on the development and co-production of original films and series that will premiere as Globoplay Originals in Brazil and on Telemundo’s broadcast and streaming platforms in the U.S. While titles, formats, and production models are still being defined, the focus is on creating high-value intellectual property (IP) with broad international appeal.

“This collaboration marks an important step in expanding our narrative reach and establishes a creative bridge between Brazil and the broader Hispanic market,” said Javier Pons, Chief Content Officer & Head of Telemundo Studios, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “This partnership will strengthen our editorial lineup and pave the way for premium fiction projects that connect with audiences in multiple countries.”

Telemundo Studios and Globo have a history of co-producing Spanish-language adaptations of iconic Globo telenovelas, such as Vale Tudo, O Clone (The Clone), and Fina Estampa (Husband for Rent), along with co-productions such as Amores Roubados (Playing with Fire).

“This co-production agreement with Telemundo Studios reinforces Globo’s investment in creating fictional intellectual property that captivates audiences around the world,” said Manuel Belmar, Globo’s Chief Digital Officer. “By combining our strengths, we are confident we can develop compelling stories that not only resonate in Brazil and the U.S., but also expand our international reach at a time when global storytelling is more important than ever.”
