WAWA Announces Finalists for the 2025 Woman of the Year Award

  • The World Association of Women in Audiovisual Media (WAWA) presents five finalists for the 2026 award.
  • The nominees are: Beatriz Cea Okan, Clara Machado, Gachi Ciurluini, Patricia Jasin, and Pilar Blasco.

Recognizing exceptional talent through award nominations is a commitment and an effective way to boost morale, foster excellence, and showcase the values ​​of the nominees and the awarding organization.

WAWA has announced the finalists for the 2025 Woman of the Year Award.

Beatriz Cea Okan, Vice President and Director of Sales and Acquisitions at Inter Medya, has played a key role in the company’s international expansion since 2014, overseeing strategic growth in Latin America, Spain, Brazil, Italy, and the U.S. Hispanic markets. She currently leads sales and acquisitions in these territories with high-impact alliances and a global presence.

Clara Machado, Executive Director of Script Development at Endemol Shine Boomdog, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and has built a career focused on storytelling, production, and client relations. At Endemol Shine Boomdog, she leads script development and manages a portfolio of more than 25 projects annually, including “Like Water for Chocolate.” She also promotes diversity and inclusion through her leadership of the company’s Belong initiative.

Gachi Ciurluini, Vice President of Content Strategy at CanelaTV, has over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. She leads content development, acquisitions, and original productions for Hispanic audiences at CanelaTV. Her work drives strategic growth, creative innovation, and digital engagement, contributing to CanelaTV’s expansion across global platforms.

Patricia Jasin, Director of Content Sales for Latin America and General Manager for Colombia at Warner Bros. Discovery, oversees the commercialization of iconic IPs, such as Harry Potter and DC, in Latin America. With over 20 years of experience, she has held leadership positions at TV Azteca International, Azteca Studios, Fly Content, and Frecuencia Latina International.

Pilar Blasco, CEO of Banijay Iberia, leads production labels in Spain and Portugal. She manages entertainment brands such as MasterChef, Operación Triunfo, Gran Hermano, and La Isla de las Tentaciones. She was CEO of Endemol Shine Iberia and creative director of Zeppelin TV. She also heads the Young Adult division of Banijay Iberia, overseeing titles such as Virtual Hero, among others.

The WAWA Woman of the Year 2025 award will be presented during Content Americas 2026 in Miami, at the market’s closing ceremony on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in Conference Room One at the Hilton Downtown Miami, where the C21 Media group will host the event.

The selection will be broadcast, and all active WAWA members will cast their votes upon arrival. The results will be overseen by a committee comprised of members of the press.
