Turner, Cisneros Group and Viacom bid for the purchase of Telefe in Argentina

And it is that the package or round transaction amount approximately some $300 million, a tasty sum for the owners of the channel.

The group of 9 open channels that Telefe operates in the interior of the country is for sale, regardless of whether the applicant is Turner or not. And there are other groups that already formally expressed their interest, including Cisneros and Viacom. Although previously they had been mentioned as interested Discovery Networks and an investment fund, the latter no longer form part of the negotiations.

Sale of Telefe rumors circulating since the beginning of this year and according to information offered by the general manager of Turner Argentina, Felipe de Stefani, to the newspaper La Nación, the group has interest in making this purchase.

Turner advances in its investments in Argentina to stay with local soccer telecast rights and considers the launch of a local version of CNN.
