Mauricio Islas, protagonist of the telenovela Destino
With over twenty telenovelas to his credit, Islas highlights to TVMAS that the result of a production depends on knowing how to put together a good team committed to the work, as this is reflected on the screen. Although he assures that in each project, an actor must reinvent himself to make the character look different and maintain validity with the audience.
“Television is evolving, and in this process there are many hits and some not so. My money is on classic melodramas like Destino, I believe that a well-told storynever fails. Although there’s a great certainty in betting on cutting-edge projects because it is one more option, but I bet more for the classics”, said the actor.
Islas debuts as film producer with El entrenador from the hand of Leonardo Cimbrón, producer of the highest grossing Mexican film in recent years, Nosotros los nobles. “It’s an original story by Arturo Martinez, which I produce and starred. It’s a challenge to combine the two, just as assembling the cast that you contemplate,but I’m proud with the results”, he concluded
The protagonist of Destino, plans to enter in the production of telenovelas, “I presented in Azteca, telenovela projects based on Spanish series, I hope that the network gives me the opportunity. I think that people that already have a background in this, must let our experience take the next step, producing and directing”, he concluded.
