MipCancun grows in Latin America, from Mexico

Yesterday began the meeting between buyers and sellers at the Grand Fiesta Americana Hotel in Cancun, Mexico with a call in which participate in this third edition, more than 500 executives from 43 countries. Both sellers and buyers highlighted Reed Midem’s role in bringing together more than 100 buyers from Latin America and coordinating agendas equitably with all exhibiting companies.

The event helps countries in the region such as Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador and Honduras, which do not participate in other markets for a matter of economy, find a solution to the canned product the solution for their programming needs. Another highlight of the market is the stronger presence of US companies, including studios, distributors and producers, who are seeking to relate to Latin America and increase their business base in the region.

The model of business tables with a prior agenda and common places for breakfast, lunch and coffee break help the networking of the event, a characteristic highlighted by all the participants. At the same time, the event counted from its start with a large agenda of conferences and Summits, which began with the “Creative and Digital Minds Summit”, focused on the generation Z, contents, creative talks, data, adaptations and remakes, besides formats, among others. Then, a highlight of the day was the keynote with Manuel Abud, president and CEO of Azteca America, where the executive explained the strategy and vision of the Hispanic channel.

The official opening of MipCancun was made by Reed Midem’s team, led by Ted Baracos, Director of Market Development, who pointed out that the event will have a total of 3,700 meetings through 145 tables of distributors. “I want to thank the presence of all the suppliers and panelists of each conference, as well as all our associated media partners.”

On the close of yesterday, ITV Inter Medya performed the Screening of its format “Who Is Who” and the new Dramedy “Hayat”, that combines new ingredients to the typical Turkish drama, maintaining a high level of production. In charge of the presentation was Beatriz Cea, Sales Executive for Latin America.
