Telemundo makes changes in its strategy and Luis Silberwasser leaves the President’s chair

Luis Silberwasser

Today NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced that industry veteran Luis Silberwasser leaves his position as President of the Telemundo network, which he held for 4 years.

In this position, Silberwasser helped in the programming strategy and the positioning of the network by betting on new genres and formats, and focused on satisfying the changing tastes and demands of the new Hispanic consumer thanks to his long and award-winning career in the complex Hispanic market of the United States.

César Conde, CEO of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal International Group, says in the statement that “Luis helped boost our rise as the preferred media and entertainment brand for the Hispanic consumer of today. On behalf of everyone at Telemundo, I want to thank him for his contributions and great dedication.”

Silberwasser for his part thanked the achievements and the important role of this organization in serving the Latino community throughout the United States. “Today, Telemundo is the undisputed leader, not only in the audience, but also in the risks it is taking on content by breaking stereotypes. Now that I embark on new content creation challenges, I hope that the Telemundo brand will grow forcefully.”

Meanwhile, in this area of transformation, Telemundo struggles hard for ratings and therefore, this was not the only announcement made by the network. With the departure of the President, César Conde promoted four executives in positions that he considers key tokens in this stage of growth, giving more power to each one of them.

Beau Ferrari: Executive Vice President of Telemundo Enterprises. Will supervise the operations, financial development and corporate strategy of the company. He will work closely with all the content divisions and NBCUniversal teams throughout the portfolio.

Mónica Gil: Executive vice President and Chief Marketing officer, NBCU Telemundo Enterprises. It will serve as the key executive in charge of the company’s reputation as well as the brand and corporate marketing. She will also oversee the functions of communication, corporate affairs and Human Resources.

Peter Blacker: Executive Vice President, Revenue Strategy and Innovation, NBCU Telemundo Enterprises. Will work through linear and digital platforms to amplify the company’s monetization efforts across all revenue streams. He will work closely with the NBCUniversal teams and will also oversee the corporate division of Digital and Emerging Businesses.

Ronald Day: Executive Vice President, Entertainment, Telemundo Networks. He will be responsible for programming, talent and promotions of primetime, daytime and special for the Telemundo and Universe networks.

It is to applaud the great growth that the network has had, the creation of technology and even the construction of a majestic intelligent building. Now they must go out and find the rating that is up to these investments and these growths.
