Adrien Ledoux

TVMAS interviewed Adrien Ledoux, Marketing Director, passionate about image, creation, innovation and evolving technologies, who said that “We are a One Stop Shop and we adapt to the requirements of our customers under the work scheme From Record To Play, we cover the needs from start to finish in production and in restoration and preservation of audiovisual material.”

How many are the projects approximately in which you have participated?

“They are more than 150 post-production projects (including feature films and series) and 52 film restorations. We have provided 75 dailies on set and delivered more than 350,000 duplicates of DCP for the exhibition of films in movie theaters. In addition, we have made 1,294 graphic regionalizations and more than 4,800 half-hours of dubbing.”

You affirm that Labo is the only company in Mexico that works under the From Record To Play scheme. There is no company in Mexico, not even in Guadalajara that is a production epicenter or in Monterrey? What’s this all about?

“For more than 40 years we have offered film solutions, which change rapidly thanks to the demands that marked the analog to digital transition of the industry. We detected the needs of audiovisual and/or film projects in dailies in post-production set, distribution and preservation.”

And Ledoux explains that under this context they developed the From Record To Play scheme, to be the reliable partner of companies that, through technology and human capital, solves any requirement they may have from the beginning of their project until its final delivery.

Who are the main clients at the Latin American level and in which areas are the most services provided?

We have the ability to work with any type of project because we adapt our services based on the needs of our national and international clients, among which highlight Netflix, Amazon, Endemol, HBO, Dopamine, Dynamo, Turner, Corazon Films for set and post-production services, Warner Bros Pictures, Diamond Films for duplicate and DCP delivery services in cinemas, Dreamworks and Fox for dubbing.

Detail about dubbing for film and television … What are the languages to which you dubb?

For us, dubbing is the backbone in the culture of content consumption worldwide, since with this tool the work is given local identity by adapting it and bringing it closer to the audience. We dubb in our language mainly in neutral Spanish (LAS). In addition, we have our own studio in Brazil to dubb Portuguese (BPO) and we have a partner in Los Angeles to provide the English dubbing service.

In Mexico a wave of production and dubbing services has been unleashed. How do you compete against so much competition?

“Unlike studios with sponge, unicel, wood, cork or cloth coatings, Labo dubbing recording booths are built with a strict and artisanal process. This is because they are acoustically designed to comply with international standards that under audit certify us.”

“In this way, deep and high-pitched voices of men, women and children, urban and mezzo-sopranos, screams and whispers, are recorded with the best quality, microphone, plane and expressiveness for the contents of the clients. Currently, we are one of the few studios in Mexico that works with free actors and that are part of the National Association of Actors of Mexico (ANDA), in this way we can offer a broad talent pool.”

What are the plans going forward?

“Continue with our growth in terms of quality and to be the reliable partner of our customers to provide the greatest benefits through our solutions.”

The company has a presence in the United States and in more than twelve countries in Latin America through its own offices and in alliance with strategic partners.
