The prestigious publication founded by Miguel Smirnoff and pioneer with almost 50 years in the entertainment business, today in times of reinvention, bets again with the Virtual Screenings, this time with its edition “Virtual Screenings Autumn 2020”, during the 14th to the 25th of September.
Nicolás Smirnoff, Director of Prensario International, explained: “Virtual Screenings (May) so far has been the biggest success of the year in the international content industry. In a context of market cancellation and uncertainty, it achieved a level of participation typical of the leading events. But above all, it offered a superior business experience, ensuring the event from end-to-end.”
According to the director, the disruptive aspect of Virtual Screenings has been the combination of services + data in a dynamic and simple platform. “Every day, the Daily Reports offered testimonials, figures and trends generated from the same platform.”
“A successful complement was the Virtual Forum, a space for rankings on the most viewed content on the site, by genre, by type and by origin. Exhibitors accessed real-time viewing data on the activity taking place in their booths,” Smirnoff completed.
What’s new. New design and ease. The home will have better access to the different sections. Booths will be redesigned so that access to the video reel is more direct through the content covers.
Another key point. Concierge service for greater interaction between participants, buyers and sellers and generate new contacts by enhancing virtual meetings during the event.

“This was one of the keys to the success of the May edition that officially replaced the L.A. Screenings, canceled by the COVID-19 crisis that received more than 4,000 visits of which 1,300 were buyers from 101 countries/628 cities in the world.”
In that edition, the platform developed entirely by Prensario International. In its 11 market days (May 12th to 22nd), 7,564 sessions were opened on the platform and the participants visited the 51 booths more than 56,300 times, divided into three sections, Platinum, Gold and Bronze, and made almost 7,000 screenings of the contents.
The participating companies came mainly from EMEA (35%), followed by Latin America (33%), USA/Canada (22%) and APAC (10%), and made available more than 250 hours of original content, between fiction series, entertainment formats, documentaries, children-youth content and animation.
Registration was opened a few weeks ago. “The response from the industry has been excellent and that is why the event returns in September. We do not intend to replace canceled markets, but to create new tools for the digital age that can complement existing events. The Virtual Screenings 2020 seek to recover the flow of business and offer significant added value,” concluded Smirnoff.
